Who am I?
I’m Aidan — I work in sound design and editing. Growing up, I always thought I’d end up as a video editor like my dad. I spent years messing around with clips and timelines, certain that was what I’d do forever. But when I got to uni, I found myself drifting away from the picture side and becoming fascinated by sound instead — how it can completely change the feel of a scene or bring a story to life in ways you don’t always notice but always feel. That interest led me to complete an MA in Sound Design for Screen at Bournemouth University, where I threw myself into recording, mixing, and shaping audio for film and animation.
Of course, life has a sense of humour — after all that, I ended up working as a video editor anyway. But I actually loved it and now having both the skills and experience of sound and video turned into a great plus. It gave me a new respect for how visuals and sound feed off each other and made me even more determined to carve out my place in the world of audio.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me out for a run, playing games like an old FIFA, Death Stranding, Metal Gear Solid, or digging through new bands — lately I’ve had Geese, Mac DeMarco, and MGMT on heavy rotation. I’ve always loved music and gaming in equal measure; both have shaped how I think about atmosphere, tension, and the little details that make something stick with you.
Outside of that, I’m a Crystal Palace fan, I try to catch as much F1 as I can, and I’ll never complain about an afternoon spent in a pub garden with a pint when the sun actually decides to show up.
These days, I’m looking to take on more projects that push my skills and connect me with people who care about good storytelling and great sound as much as I do. If you want to chat about a project — or just fancy talking games, music, or Palace’s survival hopes — I’m all ears.
